Pipe Robotic System

Advanced Sewer Robotic Technology

JTV, Inc. owns and operates the latest in lateral reinstatement cutters, a self-propelled robot for use in the rehabilitation of sewer lines. Robots are used in the cured-in-place pipe lining process prior to the installation of a liner to remove any obstructions that may interfere with the installation and to reinstate lateral connections after the liner is installed.

The use of self-propelled robot (an all-wheel drive unit) is faster than winch based robotic cutters commonly used in the cured-in-place lining industry. Eliminating winch setup times, self-propelled robots can reinstate laterals faster -- means property owners are less inconvenienced and overall lining installation times are reduced. The new robot has a 3.35 horsepower motor that spins up to 10,000 RPMs for use with various types of cutting & grinding heads. The robot can also spray water on cutting heads for better cutting efficiency, longer cutting head life and dust control for better operator visibility.

The new self-propelled robot has a lens cleaning feature, spraying water on the lens for washing and even a wiper blade; reducing the need to remove the robot from the pipe to clean the lens to restore operator vision. This simple feature greatly increases robotic productivity.

Pipe Robotic System

All robotic operations are controlled by an operator within climate controlled studio inside of a specially outfitted cutting truck. The cutting truck provides electricity, compressed air and water in support of the self-propelled robot.
